Nucleus Receives Second Consecutive Three Year Accreditation Award

Nucleus Receives Second Consecutive Three Year Accreditation Award

Manny Bettencourt, Chair, Board of Directors

Beverley D. John, CEO

CARF International announced that Nucleus Independent Living has been accredited for a period of three years effective May 4, 2016 and will extend through June 30, 2019.

This Accreditation decision represents the highest level of Accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows the organization’s substantial conformance to the CARF standards.  An organization receiving a Three-Year Accreditation has put staff through a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during the onsite visit that the programs, services and governance are of the highest quality, measurable and accountable.

Furthermore, an organization that earns CARF Accreditation is commended on its quest for quality programs and services.  Our Home and Community Services and Governance Standards Applied were the Programs and Services surveyed.  The Surveyors commended us for our many areas of strength. Some of the commendations are:

·         Our highly effective and engaged Board of Directors

·         Our level of commitment to the success of the organization, positive nature of our management team, our excellent reputation among our extensive network of service partners and funders

·         Our well written policies and procedures to guide service delivery

·         The persons served are happy with the services they receive and report that their quality of life is directly attributed to Nucleus Independent Living

·         Our Consumer Advisory Council provides meaningful input to the organization

CARF is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of the persons served.  Founded in 1966 as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and now known as CARF, the accrediting body establishes consumer-focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and services.
