Providing in-home relief when caregivers need a break
Anyone who cares for the complex day-to-day needs of someone at home knows how important it is to take time to re-charge, but it’s not always easy to make the necessary arrangements to take a break. Our Caregiver ReCharge service provides temporary relief for primary caregivers who are experiencing high levels of stress and meet eligibility criteria. Trained staff assume caregiving responsibilities in the home so the caregiver can get some much-needed relief. Services are intended to temporarily relieve the primary caregiver and can include assistance with personal care, ambulation and range of motion exercises, meals, medication reminders, light housekeeping, safety and risk monitoring and companionship.
Caregiver ReCharge helps you remain physically and emotionally healthy so that you can continue to meet the 24/7 care needs of a loved one in the home. The program is funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and there is no cost for caregivers and care recipients who meet the eligibility criteria.
A Respite Advisor and Care Coordinators can also support/guide you to access other community and health services that may assist you in caring for someone at home.
