Changes to Masking Requirements
Public Health Updates to Masking Requirements that impact Nucleus care delivery effective August 1, 2023. *Updates as of October 2, 2023: Nucleus returns to mandatory masks for staff.

*UPDATE EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 2, 2023: Nucleus has returned to mandatory masks for every client interaction due to rising respiratory illnesses in our region. We continue to closely monitor this situation and follow Infection Control and Practice (IPAC) measures.
_______________________
Effective August 1, 2023, Nucleus, in alignment with heath care providers and infection control specialists across the province, will encourage, but no longer require mandatory masking. This change is due to the low respiratory viral infections, including COVID-19, in our community. This means that Nucleus staff and/or clients will wear a mask during your service delivery time if you request this specifically during each visit. If you are more comfortable with masks, our staff will wear them. If you are not feeling well, our staff will wear masks.
Please know you can ask our staff at any time during a visit to wear a mask.
What does this mean?
- For clients, wearing a mask will be a personal choice.
- For staff, mask use will be determined based on routine respiratory screening practices, which should include conducting a point of care screening before every visit with every client. If you are unwell, or possibly, members of your household, staff will wear a mask. Otherwise, staff will wear masks based on both your preference and their own comfort and safety precautions.
- For visitors, follow instructions on screening posters at all entrances. If you have any respiratory symptoms, we ask you to not enter and to call our offices.
Please contact your Care Team Lead and/or our offices if you have any questions or concerns.
